Will Red One be this year's top Christmas movie?

During the Christmas season, the story unfolds with ELF agent Callum Drift deciding to step down as Santa Claus's top bodyguard, much to Santa's reluctance. Meanwhile, the notorious bounty hunter Jack O'Malley is hired to locate a secret destination, unaware that he is being manipulated into a scheme to abduct Santa just before Christmas. As the events progress and Santa is captured, Zoe, the head of a covert government division overseeing the realm of myths, teams up with Callum Drift and the hesitant Jack O'Malley to rescue Christmas.

This is an action-packed way to celebrate Christmas with your family. To me this film is like the Marvel Universe and Christmas lore had a baby and the grew up to like the Fast and Furious movies. You get car chases; heartfelt moments and the most buff Santa Clouse I have ever seen. This movie is rated PG-13 because of the numerous swears used by many of the characters. For me it didn't take away from the film, but if you have littles, you have been warned. There were laughter out loud moments, tearful moments and like almost every Christmas movie, moments that make you want to believe in Santa.

This film is a fun for the family movie. It resembles a few Christmas movies you have probably seen, yet it also has a few story lines that are fun and different.

Is this film an original piece of art to be nominated for awards?

No, and it's not meant to be. Does this film hit the same home run as Home Alone, The Sata Clause and Elf? I would put it in the "Jingle on the Way" and "Christmas with the Kranks" level. They are fun, silly and you should see it once in the theatre and then would probably watch it later if you came across it. This movie serves its purpose to get you ready for the holidays.
